บริษัท วินด์ เอนเนอร์ยี่ โฮลดิ้ง จำกัด บริษัทในเครือ KPN Group ผู้นำด้านพลังงานทดแทนในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ ประสบความสำเร็จได้รับการสนั บสนุนทางการเงินจำนวนกว่า 37,000 ล้านบาท เพื่อลงทุนและพั ฒนาโครงการโรงไฟฟ้าพลังงานลม 5 โครงการ ซึ่งมีกำลังการผลิตรวมทั้งสิ้น 450 เมกะวัตต์ จากปัจจุบันที่บริษัทฯ มีโรงไฟฟ้าซึ่งมีขนาดกำลั งการผลิตรวม 270 เมกะวัตต์ ทั้งนี้ โครงการดังกล่าวมีกำหนดแล้วเสร็ จในไตรมาส 1 ปี 2562
โครงการโรงไฟฟ้าพลังงานลม 5 โครงการ ได้รับการสนับสนุนสินเชื่ อโดยธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์ ซึ่งเป็นผู้สนับสนุนทางการเงิ นให้แก่โครงการวะตะแบกในปี 2559 โดยโครงการดังกล่าวมีกำลั งการผลิต 60 เมกะวัตต์
สำหรับโครงการโรงไฟฟ้าพลังงานลม 5 โครงการ ซึ่งตั้งอยู่ในจังหวัดนครราชสี มาและชัยภูมิ จะมีการใช้กังหันลมทั้งของ Vestas และ General Electric (“GE”) โดย Vestas จะติดตั้งกังหันรุ่น V136-3.0 MW จำนวน 60 ตัวโดยกังหันรุ่นนี้มีความสูงถึ ง 157 เมตร ซึ่งถือเป็นกังหันที่สูงที่สุ ดและเป็นครั้งแรกในภูมิภาคเอเชี ย-แปซิฟิกที่มีการใช้กังหันรุ่ นดังกล่าว ส่วน GE จะติดตั้งกังหันรุ่น GE3.43-137 ซึ่งเป็นเทคโนโลยีแบบไฮบริ ดระหว่าง Steel และ Concrete จำนวน 90 ตัว นอกจากนี้ GE ยังก่อสร้างสถานีไฟฟ้าใหม่จำนวน 6 สถานีสำหรับโครงการอีกด้วย
ปัจจุบัน โครงการทั้ง 5 แห่งได้เริ่มการก่อสร้างแล้ว โดยคาดว่าจะแล้วเสร็จระหว่ างไตรมาส 2 ปี 2561 และไตรมาส 1 ปี 2562 ภายหลังโครงการแล้วเสร็จ กำลังการผลิตของบริษัทฯ จะเพิ่มขึ้นเป็น 720 เมกะวัตต์ ทำให้บริษัทฯ ก้าวขึ้นเป็นผู้นำด้านการผลิ ตไฟฟ้าพลั งงานลมในประเทศไทยและภูมิ ภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้

WIND ENERGY HOLDING RAISES THB 37 BILLION (US$1.1 BILLION)
TO BUILD-OUT WINDFARM PROJECTS
Represents financing for its 5 construction-ready projects with total installed capacity of 450MW
Wind Energy Holding Co., Ltd. (‘WEH’ or the ‘Company’), a member of the KPN Group and one Southeast Asia’s leading renewable energy companies, today announced that they have successfully closed financing for five of the Company’s onshore windfarms totalling 450 MW. The investment for all five of the projects will total Thai Baht (‘THB’) 37 billion. When complete, by Q1 2019, the five wind farms will add to WEH’s existing 270 MW of operating capacity.
All of the financing was fully arranged and wrapped by Siam Commercial Bank (‘SCB’). Financial close for the five projects comes on the heels of the commissioning of the Company’s 60 MW Watabak project in December 2016, which was also project financed by SCB.
The windfarms, located in Northeast Thailand in the Nakhon Ratchasima and Chaiyaphum provinces will be supplied by both Vestas and General Electric (‘GE’). Vestas, will supply 60 of their V136-3.0 MW turbines which will be the first of their kind in the Asia Pacific region. With a hub height of 157 meters, they will also host the tallest towers in the region to date. GE will supply 90 of their GE3.43-137 turbines with an innovative steel-concrete hybrid tower. GE Power will also construct six new substations as part of the grid infrastructure being built for the projects.
The projects have started construction and are expected to achieve commercial operations over the course of Q2 2018 – Q1 2019. Upon completion, WEH will have developed and constructed 720 MW of onshore windfarm capacity in Thailand, making it the single largest wind power developer and operator in the country and Southeast Asia.
